Legendary Duran Duran joins Sabrina Carpenter for iconic song
Sabrina Carpenter thrilled London audiences by bringing British pop legend Duran Duran on stage. This was during her second show at BST Hyde Park on Sunday, 6 July.
The 26-year-old singer surprised fans when she invited lead vocalist Simon Le Bon and bassist John Taylor on stage.
They performed their iconic 1982 hit, Hungry Like the Wolf, creating a magical moment for all in attendance, according to People
Before the performance, Sabrina Carpenter playfully warmed up the crowd, encouraging them to howl like wolves. “I thought it might be fun if I brought out some friends of mine from the U.K.,” she told the excited audience.
“I’m going to need you guys to put that howling to good use. Could everybody please give it up and make so much noise for the legendary Duran Duran?”
The crowd responded enthusiastically as Le Bon and Taylor took the stage, with Le Bon greeting the crowd warmly: “Good evening, London!”
The collaboration saw Le Bon sing the first verse, while Sabrina Carpenter harmonised on the chorus and took over the second verse.
Taylor provided backing vocals and bass, anchoring the performance. The crowd joined in with howls throughout, adding to the electric atmosphere.
This rendition of Hungry Like the Wolf, a track from Duran Duran’s second album Rio, remains their most-streamed song.
It’s a timeless classic that resonated strongly with the multi-generational audience at Hyde Park.
Duran Duran later shared their appreciation on Instagram, describing the performance as “amazing”. They thanked Carpenter for the special collaboration amid their busy summer European tour schedule.
The band, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024, have continued to captivate audiences with their 16th album Danse Macabre, released in 2023.
This event highlighted the vibrant connection between contemporary pop stars and classic rock legends, bridging generations and genres.
Sabrina Carpenter’s ability to unite diverse audiences with such an iconic British act reflects the global nature of music today.
Her upcoming seventh studio album, Man’s Best Friend, set for release on 29 August 2025.
It follows the success of her single Manchild, which reached number one in both the US and UK charts. This is a significant achievement that Carpenter credited to her fans’ unwavering support.
Sabrina Carpenter’s energy and enthusiasm were palpable as she told Rolling Stone, “Not to be dramatic, but what can I do while my legs still work?
I’m limber, let’s use it. My brain is sharp, let’s write. It’s such a beautiful time right now. I want to soak it up and keep making things while I’m feeling this way.”
This drive will see her headline Lollapalooza in Chicago in August before embarking on a tour in October and November.
The Hyde Park show was a celebration of music’s enduring power to unite and inspire.
As Sabrina Carpenter said to her fans, “Because of you, Manchild is my first debut #1 in the US and the UK. I love you so much it doesn’t make any sense! Thank you endlessly!”
