Ledzokuku roads to see major facelift by end of July - MP
The Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku, Benjamin Narteh Ayiku, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving the municipality’s road network, revealing that construction works are expected to begin by the end of July.
His assurance follows growing frustration from residents and commuters in Teshie and surrounding areas over the deteriorating condition of inner-city roads in the Greater Accra Region.
According to Mr. Ayiku, a total of 40.3 kilometres of roads will be constructed under a broader infrastructure improvement plan for the constituency.
Speaking to Citi News on Sunday, July 13, the MP also disclosed that the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly is prioritising key developmental projects, including drainage systems and the rehabilitation of additional inner roads.
“Yesterday, we met the Roads Minister and he reassured us that the Big Push is coming on, and most of our major roads will be put in good shape. Be assured. Our president is action-oriented and responds to the concerns of the public,” he said.
“Let’s keep our fingers crossed. The assembly is also working on the inner roads. Most of the drainage systems will be addressed, and the bad roads will see a facelift. By the end of this month, you will see action.”
The “Big Push” initiative—flagship policy of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC)—seeks to accelerate infrastructure development, stimulate economic growth, and create sustainable jobs across Ghana.
