Landman Season 2 Stumbles with Low Ratings and Controversial Episode 2 Revelation

Taylor Sheridan's oil drama, Landman, has returned for a second season, generating mixed reactions despite the first season's overwhelming acclaim. While the series premiered with a respectable 81% fresh rating from critics for Season 2, this score has since dipped to 77%. The audience response has been more challenging, with the season premiere initially rated at a low 36% before slowly climbing to 40%. This stands in stark contrast to the first season's 64% audience score, leading to a pull on the overall series audience score down to 53%.
A significant point of contention in Season 2 revolves around the controversial relationship between Cooper (Jacob Lofland) and Ariana (Paulina Chavez). In Episode 2, Ariana confronted Cooper, expressing her disinterest in his ambition for wealth and subsequently ejecting him from their home. Both Lofland and Chavez addressed the future of their characters' relationship in an interview. Chavez remains optimistic, stating, “We’re learning the ropes.
