Lagos govt suspends five CBD officers for misconduct
Lagos State Government has revealed that five officials of the Central Business District Office are under discipline for unprofessional conduct, as it said that the state government would not tolerate residents attacking its officers while on duty.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business Districts (CBD), Bola Olumegbon-Lawal, stated this yesterday, during the ongoing media briefing to mark the second anniversary of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s second term in office.
Olumegbon-Lawal also said that following the successes recorded in the Lagos Island and Ikeja Business Districts, the governor had approved the establishment of the Apapa Central Business Office, which aims to tackle infrastructure maintenance challenges and foster a conducive business environment.
She emphasised the transformative changes under the governor’s leadership, which have significantly improved the infrastructure and economy of the state.
The special adviser urged stakeholders to actively support government initiatives to further enhance the vibrancy of the state’s commercial hubs.
ALSO, to mitigate the menace of building collapse, the state government, yesterday, said that working hours at building sites across the state would henceforth be restricted to between 7.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m., from Monday to Saturday.
The state’s Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr Oluyinka Olumide, who disclosed this in Ikeja, said that the restriction order must be strictly adhered to by all those involved in building construction in the state, as relevant government agencies would enforce compliance.
