This is after Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) officially released the 2025 their placement results.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, July 1, by Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba.
A total of 962,512 candidates sat the 2024 national exams, with 246,391 meeting the minimum university entry grade of C+ and above, which accounted for 25.3% of the total cohort.
According to CS Ogamba, KUCCPS successfully placed 310,502 students into various institutions and programmes countrywide. Out of the 246,391 candidates who qualified for university admission, 194,372 secured spots in both degree and diploma programmes.
The minister noted that 201,695 students, representing 83% of those eligible, had actively applied for placement.
He emphasised that the available slots were sufficient to absorb not just the 2024 candidates, but also those from previous years who had not yet secured admission.
He further reaffirmed the government's commitment to expanding access to higher and technical education.
This move, he said, supports the country's bottom-up economic transformation agenda by equipping the youth with practical and market-driven skills.
