- Korogocho MCA Absolomon Odhiambo has called on the Kamba community to properly vet the honesty in former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's gesture of an existing cousins relationship with the Mt Kenya communities.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Absolomon said the Ukambani region has remained underdeveloped despite Central Kenya having produced three heads of state.

According to the vocal Nairobi MCA, it is a direct ridicule to the Kamba community and a sign of disrespect from the former DP to try to bring out the idea of the two communities being related.

"Mwai Kibaki was there for ten years; did they realise you are cousins? Uhuru Kenyatta then came for another ten years; did he ever know you were cousins? And even Uhuru's father, Jomo Kenyatta, ruled for 15 years; did he recognise you as cousins?" Odhiambo questioned

Absolomon wondered why Ukambani still lacks basic amenities such as access to water, yet Gachagua claims the region is related to 'Mt Kenya', which is more developed.

According to the Korogocho MCA, former prime minister Raila Odinga would have resolved many issues facing the Ukambai region had he won the presidency.

He urged the Kamba community not to follow Gachagua into the opposition, arguing that the region might continue being disadvantaged.
