In a tweet on Tuesday, June 10, Amisi claimed that evidence points to the young blogger being strangled to death in police custody.

The ODM lawmaker demanded the immediate arrest of all police officers and DCI detectives who handled Ojwang's case.

Amisi further demanded the arrest of Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat, whose complaint led to Ojwang's arrest by DCI detectives.

"It seems comrade #AlbertOjwang was strangled to death in the police cells. By close of business today ,I demand for the arrest of police and CID officers involved, as well as the top police commander whose case led to the arrest of the young man,' Amisi said.

The vocal lawmaker stated that President William Ruto should resign and disband his government if no action is taken against officers linked to the blogger's murder.

According to Amisi, it is the primary responsibility of the government to protect the life of its citizens.

"If this does not happen, then #Ruto has no option but to resign and disband the entire government for failure to undertake the primary responsibility of the state to protect the life of its citizens," he stated.

On Tuesday, June 10, pathologist Benard Midia ruled out self-inflicted injuries as Ojwang's cause of death.

Addressing the press outside the Nairobi Funeral Home, Midia revealed that Ojwang died from head injuries and neck compression.

Elsewhere, Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale joined other leaders in condemning the death of the blogger.

Speaking at the Senate on Tuesday, June 10, the Senate Majority Whip wondered why the DIG was still in office despite being heavily linked to Ojwang's case.

According to the vocal senator, Lagat should be arrested and put behind bars to serve as a lesson to other officers breaking the law.

The senator called on the government to ensure that the same speed that was used in carrying out investigations into the assassination of Kasipul MP Charles Ong'ondo Were should be used in blogger Ojwang's death case.

Khalwale, who has been critical of the government, argued that one being killed in a police cell is worse than someone being detained without trial.

He further called for the matter to be escalated to instil fear in the government to respect human life.
