Albert Ojwang: Mixed Reactions as Matiangi Mourns Slain Blogger with Heartfelt Message

Fred Matiang'i who is eyeing the presidency, is among the latest people to send a heartfelt message of condolence to the family and friends of the late Albert Ojwang.

Ojwang was sadly killed by police officers who picked him up from his rural home of Kokewo, in Homa Bay county while he was having lunch with his wife and mother.

It has also emerged that the young, and was badly tortured at Karura Forest before he was returned at the Central Police Station.

In his message of condolence, Matiang'i said that Ojwang was a young man full of promise, a beacon of hope for his family and the pride of his parents.

"His life was cut short in a manner that has shocked the conscience of the nation and demands accountability," he said.

Matiang'i also condemned the sense death of the blogger said.

After Matiang'i who is now based in the US, issued his strongly worded statement, a section of Kenyans called him out for being the pot that called the kettle black.

According to the Kenyans, he did not not deal conclusively with the deaths of Baby Pendo, Kianjakoma brothers and many other bodies found in River Yala when he led the Interior docket during the past regime.

Another story revealed that Albert Ojwang was quite healthy when he was booked into the Central Police Station on Saturday evening, June 7, moments past 9 pm.

According to an anonymous source, the blogger was tortured into unconsciousness, after which his attackers sought to return him to the cell.

Nairobi Central Police OCS Samson Talam told IPOA that Ojwang was unresponsive, prompting them to ask those who brought him to take the young man to the hospital but that never happened and he eventually died.
