Konga Group CEO Prince Ekeh Sweeps Prestigious Forbes and EuroKnowledge Global Awards in UK!

Prince Nnamdi Ekeh, the dynamic under-30 maverick entrepreneur and Group Chief Executive Officer of Konga, one of Africa’s fastest-growing e-commerce powerhouses, recently achieved significant international recognition. He was honored with two prestigious global awards: the Distinguished EuroKnowledge Award for Emerging Leadership in Digital Transformation and the Forbes Best of Africa E-commerce Leadership Award 2025. These accolades, presented at the House of Lords in London, celebrated his transformative impact on the African digital and e-commerce ecosystem, marking a historic moment for both Ekeh and Nigeria.
Ekeh's journey to global acclaim is built upon a strong academic foundation and early entrepreneurial drive. Forbes conducted comprehensive due diligence on his profile, tracing his educational path from his secondary school days at Leysin American School, Switzerland (2008-2010), where his numerical skills first shone, earning him second place in a National Mathematics Competition. He then pursued A levels/Foundation at Warwick (2010-2011), followed by a degree in Economics and Politics with a minor in Entrepreneurship from the University of Lancaster (2011-2014). He capped his brilliant academic career with an MBA from the University of Oxford (2021-2022).
During his time as a student at the University of Lancaster, at just 19 years old, Prince Ekeh conceptualized Yudala, an ambitious e-commerce outpost that quickly became Africa's first composite e-commerce company. By the time he returned to Nigeria for his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Yudala had already grown into a bustling commercial hub, employing over 250 staffers. His leadership capabilities have garnered international attention, including features in Forbes Africa and his inclusion in the Top 100 Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD).
Prince Ekeh hails from an illustrious dynasty of digital entrepreneurs. He is the eldest son of Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh, the renowned tech mogul and founder of Zinox Group, a leading African conglomerate with international operations. His mother, Lady Chioma Ekeh, a distinguished maths whiz and chartered accountant, serves as the Group CEO of TD Africa, West Africa's largest tech distribution company. His siblings also play significant roles in the African digital landscape; for instance, his elder sister, Mrs. Gozy Ijogun (nee Ekeh), pioneered TD-Mobile, generating ₦38 billion in revenue in its first year and securing partnerships with global brands like Apple and Samsung. She now serves as CEO of Task Systems Limited. This entrepreneurial spirit extends further back, with his great-grandfather, Mazi Ihentuge Ekeh, being a prominent merchant, and his paternal grandmother, a British-trained entrepreneur, famously designing Nigeria's first galvanized dustbin and running a chain of restaurants.
Despite his family's wealth, Prince Ekeh maintained a humble and hardworking demeanor, dedicating several years to learning within the Zinox Group. He leveraged this experience to drive Yudala's growth, leading his team to acquire Konga from Naspers and Kinnevik in 2018. This strategic move transformed the once-struggling firm into the continent's fastest-growing e-commerce company.
A highlight of the awards ceremony was Prince Ekeh's compelling "fire-starter speech" at the House of Lords. He brilliantly articulated a hybrid business model that transcends conventional approaches, advocating for a composite e-commerce outpost that seamlessly integrates online shopping with physical in-store experiences, a model now being replicated globally. He challenged corporates to build at scale, create impact, and define "responsible" business beyond traditional frameworks.
During his speech, Ekeh recounted the dilemma faced when acquiring Konga: "Do we build just an e-commerce company or do we build infrastructure that can outlive us? We chose the more challenging path, to build the rails of digital commerce for Nigeria and, ultimately, for Africa. Because entrepreneurship that truly changes lives must solve real problems, not just build pretty apps." He emphasized addressing critical issues like payment collection, unreliable logistics, and lack of trust by developing solutions such as KongaPay, Konga Logistics, and a hybrid retail model. Furthermore, Konga TV and radio channels were established to provide lifestyle content and a platform for merchants, customers, and partners within the ecosystem.
Today, Konga's robust ecosystem supports over 250,000 merchants, 4 million customers, and hundreds of logistics franchisees. Ekeh highlighted that "Every package delivered isn’t just commerce, it’s connection. It’s a small business in Enugu selling to a customer in Kano for the first time. It’s a logistics agent who now employs 100 drivers because of our franchise model. That’s what scalable social impact looks like; technology turning potential into prosperity." He referenced Elon Musk's model, stressing that great innovations often deviate from strict frameworks but ultimately advance humanity.
For Africa, Ekeh posited that impact must be tangible, leading to "food on tables, jobs created, families lifted, systems digitised." He asserted, "True social impact is not charity; it’s infrastructure for inclusion. When a merchant in Lagos has the same digital tools as a retailer in London, that’s equality of access. When a delivery rider in Kano builds a franchise from one bike to 100, that’s wealth redistribution powered by innovation. This is what it means to build a socially conscious business at scale; where every commercial success expands opportunity for others."
He concluded by advocating for an entrepreneurial future, especially in Africa, where businesses "Build fast, build wide, but build with meaning." While celebrating ESGs (Environmental Social Governances) and SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), he stressed the importance of inclusive "GROWTH – Growth that includes people. Growth that lasts. Growth that transforms." Ekeh believes the next generation of entrepreneurs will build new systems that accommodate more people, aiming for "commercial scale with social soul." Nigerian dignitaries, including the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, and NAFDAC DG, Professor Mojisola Adeyeye, were among those who witnessed this inspiring address.
