On Sunday, May 18, reports emerged on social media claiming a Climax bus with an unspecified number of passengers, en route to Nairobi from Busia, had crashed.
According to the reports, the PSV bus veered off the road and crashed into a ditch on the busy road.
The reports had quoted alleged eyewitnesses at the scene who described the situation as chaotic and distressing.
The accident has caused significant disruption to traffic flow along the affected route, and motorists are advised to seek alternative pathways if possible.
Authorities have not yet released official figures regarding fatalities or the exact number of injured individuals.
