Legendary rock band KISS is set to release a new two-part documentary titled “KISS: End of the Road,” which will chronicle their historic final tour. The film is scheduled to debut on November 19, accessible via the band’s official KISSOnline platform, with subsequent roll-out plans for other platforms. This documentary offers unparalleled access to the “End of The Road World Tour,” documenting the concluding live chapter of the iconic band.
According to a press release, “KISS: End of The Road” captures the camaraderie, conflicts, challenges, and profound emotion experienced throughout their journey towards one final, momentous performance at Madison Square Garden. Beyond the tour itself, the film delves into how KISS intends to perpetuate its enduring legacy in the years to come, providing a comprehensive look at their past, present, and future.
The documentary is a collaborative production between Pophouse and Mercury Studios. It was directed by DJ Viola, known for his work on “Terror in the Woods,” and produced by Leslie Greif of Big Dreams Entertainment & Elemeno Productions, ensuring a high-quality production that captures the essence of the band's final moments on the road.
Paul Stanley, the band’s singer and guitarist, expressed his excitement about the film, stating, “The End of The Road World Tour was the culmination of fifty years of touring to elevate the live concert experience for fans old and new. A defining moment in KISS history.” He added that the documentary allows viewers to witness and be part of the unseen moments that made this last tour “one of the wildest, most memorable rides of our career,” inviting fans to experience it through the band's eyes.
Fellow co-founder Gene Simmons, the bassist and singer, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the significance of the film. “This documentary showcases the closing chapter of our touring career, back in N.Y. where it all started for us,” Simmons remarked. He highlighted the “raw energy” of the Madison Square Garden shows and noted that the film provides an unprecedented inside perspective, allowing everyone to “experience the world of KISS in a way they’ve never seen before.”
The extensive farewell tour commenced in January 2019 and concluded on December 2, 2023, with the final performance at Madison Square Garden. Fans will have the opportunity to access the film's premiere during a special livestream event on the KISS website next month, with sign-ups currently available for $14.99.
