King Kylie Storms Music Scene: Kylie Jenner Drops Debut Track ‘Fourth Strike’

Kylie Jenner has officially expanded her diverse portfolio of titles, adding recording artist to her list with the release of her debut song, “Fourth Strike,” on Tuesday, October 14. This new venture sees the reality star-turned-beauty mogul collaborating with the pop duo Terror Jr, and significantly, it marks the revival of her iconic King Kylie alter ego, a persona deeply intertwined with her brand and public image from a decade ago.

The electro-pop track “Fourth Strike” closes a long-standing loop that began with Terror Jr’s “Third Strike.” The earlier song gained significant attention in the mid-2010s when it was featured in a Kylie Cosmetics advertisement, leading many to mistakenly believe that Jenner herself was the vocalist. Addressing this past rumor, Jenner now explicitly features on the new track, singing lines such as “One strike, two strike, let me get the mood right/ Do it on purpose just to see how it ends.” She also gives a direct shout-out to her King Kylie moniker, reinforcing its significance at the close of the song.

This musical release is accompanied by a wave of nostalgia for Jenner, as it coincides with the impending launch of her King Kylie Collection of cosmetics. Furthermore, she is set to reintroduce numerous signature Kylie Cosmetics products that were immensely popular about a decade ago, pivotal items that contributed to her business achieving a billion-dollar valuation. This valuation was established when Coty acquired a 51 percent stake in the brand for $1.2 billion in 2019.

Celebrating the arrival of “Fourth Strike,” the 28-year-old shared a “photo dump” on Instagram, featuring clips of her in the recording studio. Expressing her excitement, Jenner wrote, “AHHHHHH!!!!!! FOURTH STRIKE!!! terror jr ft KING KYLIE!!!!! OUT NOW EVERYWHERE! what is happening!!!” She clarified the backstory, stating, “There was a little rumor 10 years ago that I was the one actually singing on 3 strikes! it wasn’t me (wish it was) so I had the idea to come together for fourth strike and it would actually be ME FEATURED!” This isn't Jenner’s first moment of vocal viral fame; she previously became a meme sensation in 2019 for singing “Rise and Shine” to wake her daughter Stormi in an episode of *Keeping Up With the Kardashians*.
