Kenya's UDA Fires Starting Gun for 2027 Race: Aspirants Flock to Register!

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has officially launched its preparatory phase for the 2027 General Election by opening registration for party members aspiring to contest elective seats. This early initiative highlights the party’s focus on structured and transparent nomination processes well ahead of the polls. In a formal notice to members, UDA invited qualified individuals to register for the UDA Aspirants’ Forum, a platform tasked with shaping internal nomination procedures and ensuring fairness, a topic that has previously drawn public scrutiny.

Registration Process and Fees

The online registration portal for aspirants went live on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, accessible via the party’s official website, www.uda.ke. Registration is mandatory for anyone seeking a UDA ticket for the 2027 elections. The process also requires a non-refundable registration fee, varying according to the position sought: KSh 2,000 for Member of County Assembly (MCA) aspirants, KSh 5,000 for Members of National Assembly, Women Representatives, and Senators, and KSh 10,000 for gubernatorial candidates.

UDA has provided two payment options for convenience. Payments can be made via M-Pesa Paybill Number 888092, using the aspirant’s ID number as the account number, or via bank transfer to the UDA account at Equity Bank Limited, Account Number 0810280788414, Supreme Centre Branch.

Key Meetings and Roadmap for Nominations

A critical UDA Aspirants’ Forum meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at State House, Nairobi. The meeting will outline the roadmap for party nominations, providing aspirants with clear guidelines, timelines, and expectations as the 2027 election season approaches.

By launching the Aspirants’ Forum, UDA is taking a proactive step to streamline internal processes and manage what is expected to be a highly competitive and closely scrutinized nomination season, positioning the party to enter the election period with structured and transparent procedures.
