Karol G Dominates Latin Airplay with 23rd No. 1 Hit, Featuring Drake Collab ‘Ahi’
Karol G has achieved her 23rd career No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart with “Ahí,” her collaboration with Drake. This latest success allows her to surpass Prince Royce and solidifies her position as a dominant force in Latin music, also marking Drake's third No. 1 on the chart.
Karol G has once again topped Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart, replacing her own two-week leader. Her collaboration with Drake, titled “Ahí,” climbed to the No. 1 spot on the latest Oct. 31-dated chart, moving past “BbY WOW,” which features Judeline and rusowsky. Released in August from her album No Me Arrepiento De Sentir Tanto, “Ahí” marks Karol G’s 23rd career No. 1 on the chart. This achievement is attributed to a 5% increase in all-Latin-format audience impressions during the Oct. 16-22 tracking week, as reported by Luminate.
With this latest success, Karol G has surpassed Prince Royce, securing the 10th most No. 1s in the chart’s history. Among female artists, she now trails only Shakira, who holds 25 No. 1s. “Ahí” is also her third chart-topper of 2023, following “Coleccionando Heridas” with Marco Antonio Solís and “BbY WOW.” Karol G has consistently earned multiple No. 1s every year since 2018, when she first led with “Mi Cama” (featuring J Balvin and Nicky Jam) and “Calypso” (with Luis Fonsi and Stefflon Don).
Drake also celebrated a milestone with “Ahí,” earning his third Latin Airplay No. 1. His previous chart-toppers include features on Romeo Santos’ “Odio” in 2014 and Bad Bunny’s “MIA” in 2018. The track also achieved success on the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart, rising to No. 1. This marks Karol G’s milestone 20th leader on that tally, tying her with Wisin, Yandel, and Wisin & Yandel (credited separately as an official duo) for the sixth-most in the chart’s history. For Drake, it is his second Latin Rhythm Airplay No. 1, following “MIA.”
Beyond the top spots, “Ahí” currently ranks at No. 3 on the multimetric Hot Latin Songs chart, where it previously spent one week at No. 1. It also holds the No. 88 position on the Billboard Hot 100, having debuted at its peak of No. 44. Karol G has another track, “Alguien Que Te Amaba,” rapidly ascending the Latin Airplay ranks, jumping 12-7 on the latest chart with a 14% gain in audience impressions, signifying her 26th career top 10 hit.
