Kano Pillars sign MoU with Radio France, unveil new kits
Kano Pillars Football Club has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Radio France International (RFI) Hausa to uplift the status of the club. Kano Pillars’ new General Manager, Ahmed Musa, signed the agreement yesterday, heralding the French outfit as the club’s official media partner.
The ex-Super Eagles captain had earlier promised a nine-point agenda programme, including prioritising strategic partnerships to ensure the success of the club.
Shortly after the signing of the pact, Musa described the development as historic, considering the massive fan base of the club not just in Kano or Nigeria, but across the African continent.
“This is just the beginning. We are here to take our club to the next level. We promised to give our best, and sponsorships, especially from within and outside Kano, will play a big role in that,” he said.
“RFI is offering far more than we expected. They are contributing ₦5 million in cash, along with a total support package worth around ₦100 million.”
On his part, the Director and Chief Coordinator of RFI Hausa in Nigeria, Joseph Penny, said the partnership aligns with the organisation’s commitment to promoting sports and community engagement across Nigeria and beyond.
“We are here to support Ahmed Musa’s visionary leadership,” he stated. “Kano Pillars Football Club is one of Nigeria’s most storied football institutions. This groundbreaking partnership, under the leadership of football legend Ahmed Musa, will help propel the club to greater heights.
“It is RFI’s first football sponsorship in history and includes full sponsorship of new kits, provision of state-of-the-art media equipment for club communications, and training for Kano Pillars’ media team in professional video production, along with media publishing on RFI Hausa platforms.”
