K-Pop Sensation Hearts2Hearts Shatters Records with 'ICONIC HEART' Debut!

The eight-member K-pop girl group Hearts2Hearts, comprised of JIWOO, CARMEN, YUHA, STELLA, JUUN, A-NA, IAN, and YE-ON, has made a remarkable entry into the Japanese music scene with their debut single, "ICONIC HEART." The group, which first debuted in South Korea in February 2025 and quickly became the most-awarded rookie act of that year with nine rookie awards, launched their milestone Japanese single on August 12.

"ICONIC HEART" swiftly climbed the charts, debuting at an impressive No. 2 on Billboard Japan's weekly Top Singles Sales chart for the week of August 10 to 16, selling 65,176 copies in its first week. Concurrently, the title track also secured the No. 2 spot on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 for the same period and topped the radio airplay metric, signifying an exceptionally strong start for a debut single.

The single was released in six distinct formats: a regular edition, first press limited edition A with a photobook, first press limited edition B featuring member profile sheets, first press limited edition C with postcards, first press limited edition D including initial beads, and a UNIVERSAL MUSIC STORE exclusive edition. Each version contained three tracks, notably including "RUDE! (Japanese Ver.)."

An examination of first-week sales trends for debut releases by 5th-generation K-pop girl groups in Japan, utilizing SoundScan Japan data, further underscores Hearts2Hearts' success. "ICONIC HEART" achieved the highest first-week sales among the three releases compared, outperforming sales figures of 54,187 and 5,764 copies from other groups. This performance reflects a robust and enthusiastic fan interest in Hearts2Hearts from the outset.

The group's vigorous and well-planned activities in Japan prior to and around the single's release are credited with building a significant audience. These efforts included performing "STYLE" at the SM ENTERTAINMENT 30th anniversary world tour (SMTOWN LIVE 2025 in TOKYO, August 2025), a dedicated release event at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza (December 2025), the early digital release of "RUDE! (Japanese Ver.)" (March 2026), and appearances on Japanese terrestrial television (April–June 2026).

Hearts2Hearts' momentum has been further amplified by three appearances at TOKYO GIRLS COLLECTION, their debut on THE FIRST TAKE YouTube channel, various festival and TV appearances, and being recognized as August 2026’s Monthly Artist on TikTok and Spotify’s artist support program “Buzz Tracker.”

Beyond Japan, Hearts2Hearts is also garnering international acclaim. The group was selected for NME’s annual NME100: Essential Emerging Artists For 2026 list, which highlights rising global talents, and has successfully held solo showcases in North America. With each member contributing their unique charm and personality, Hearts2Hearts is poised to solidify its position as an iconic group for the Z-alpha generation, building on their impressive debut and sustained global engagement.
