K-Pop Queens BLACKPINK & Selena Gomez Freeze the Competition, Hitting Billion YouTube Views!

The music video for BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez's 2020 collaborative single, “Ice Cream,” has achieved a remarkable milestone, surpassing one billion views on YouTube. This accomplishment marks the eighth time a music video by the globally renowned K-pop group BLACKPINK has reached this impressive viewership, and it is the fourth such feat for American pop star Selena Gomez.
The vibrant “Ice Cream” music video is a visual spectacle, transporting viewers into a colorful, retro dreamscape. It features the four members of BLACKPINK – LISA, JENNIE, JISOO, and ROSÉ – alongside Selena Gomez, all clad in a series of dynamic and eye-catching outfits. Throughout the video, the five singers are seen dancing in an array of playful and imaginative settings, including a massive pink balloon pit and various inflatable bounce houses. A prominent theme, fitting the song's title, is the abundance of ice cream, highlighted by Gomez's arrival in an ice cream truck and the BLACKPINK members dancing playfully in an ice cream parlor, cones in hand.
“Ice Cream” served as the second single released from BLACKPINK's highly anticipated debut studio album, *The Album*. The track demonstrated its commercial success on the charts, spending eight consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, where it ultimately peaked at No. 13. Furthermore, it maintained a presence on the Billboard Global 200 for 14 weeks, reaching its highest position at No. 8. *The Album* itself made a strong debut, peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and remaining on the chart for a total of 26 weeks.
Since their debut in 2016 with the single album *Square One*, BLACKPINK has solidified their position as one of the most recognized and influential names in K-pop. The girl group has successfully landed 11 songs on the Hot 100, and their second studio album, *Born Pink*, surpassed the chart performance of their debut by topping the Billboard 200. Beyond their group success, all four members of BLACKPINK have also ventured into successful solo music careers, with each member achieving at least one hit on the Hot 100 chart.
With its billion views on YouTube, “Ice Cream” joins an elite club of BLACKPINK singles that have achieved this status, including “Pink Venom” and “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du,” with the latter famously crossing the billion-view threshold not once, but twice. For Selena Gomez, “Ice Cream” is now counted among her other music videos that have reached this monumental viewership, alongside “Come & Get It,” “Calm Down” (a collaboration with Rema), and “We Don’t Talk Anymore” (a feature on Charlie Puth’s track).
