JUST IN: Tension as Protesters Set Police Station Ablaze, Location Announced

Ifon, Ondo state - Angry youths protesting the reported death of a boy have set ablaze the police division in Ifon, the headquarters of Ose Local Government Area in Ondo State.

It was gathered that the boy was allegedly tortured to death in police custody.

According to The Nation, sources said the boy’s friend remained in a coma at a hospital.

During the unrest, the protesters also set fire to another building in the area.

The state Police Commissioner Wilfred Afolabi has responded to the escalating tension in the area.

Afolabi departed Akure, the state capital for Ifon to restore order and prevent further violence in the area.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Lagos state was thrown into pandemonium by suspected thugs during the 2020 EndSARS protest in the commercial city.

Hoodlums operating under the guise of EndSARS protest have burnt down Apapa Iganmu police station. The unfortunate incident happened amid demonstration against police brutality nationwide.

Viral video of the unfortunate incident showed the station on fire with people surrounding it. No police officer, however, was in the building as at the time the suspected thugs invaded the station.
