Jumanji 3 Unleashes Wild Trailer and Honors Robin Williams at CinemaCon!

Sony Pictures has officially revealed the next chapter in the blockbuster franchise, Jumanji: Open World, during CinemaCon—offering fans the first look at a sequel packed with returning stars, new twists, and a nostalgic tribute to Robin Williams.

The film brings back the core trio of Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black, with the story once again blending the real world and the game universe in chaotic, comedic fashion.

The trailer teased large-scale jungle creatures spilling into suburban settings, signaling a bigger and more unpredictable adventure.

A new creative twist sees the main cast playing altered versions of their in-game avatars, with Johnson’s Dr. Bravestone given a fresh cultural reinterpretation and the characters of Hart and Black humorously portrayed as still “stuck in demo mode,” struggling to fully master their abilities.

The franchise, which traces its modern revival to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, continues to expand on the original 1995 classic that starred Robin Williams.

This new installment includes a direct tribute to Williams, with cast members confirming an Easter egg featuring the original game dice as a symbolic nod to the late actor.

Johnson also reportedly honored Williams during the presentation, calling the film a dedication to his legacy.

Directed once again by Jake Kasdan, the film maintains continuity with previous entries while expanding its ensemble cast, including returning roles from Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, Awkwafina, Alex Wolff, Morgan Turner, and Danny DeVito.

Set for a Christmas Day 2026 release, Jumanji: Open World arrives seven years after The Next Level, with speculation already building about whether this could mark a closing chapter for Johnson’s involvement in the franchise.

Early reactions from CinemaCon suggest strong anticipation, with Sony positioning the film as one of its major holiday releases in a competitive blockbuster season.
