A special one-off concert, "The Songs Of John Farnham: A Living Legend The Celebration," dedicated to the illustrious career of Australian music icon John Farnham, is set to receive a widespread cinematic release. Originally slated for Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Sunday, September 20, the event quickly sold out, prompting organizers Cochrane Entertainment and TEG Dainty to arrange a live broadcast into HOYTS’ national network of cinemas. This initiative expands the reach of what concert promoter Paul Dainty described as an "extraordinary event for Australian music," making it accessible to fans across the country beyond the 15,000-capacity arena.
The star-studded celebration will feature a remarkable lineup of 120 artists and musicians, all performing in tribute to Farnham. Notable performers include international and local legends such as Keith Urban, Tina Arena, Jimmy Barnes, Kate Ceberano, Ross Wilson, Human Nature, Richard Marx, Jessica Mauboy, and Jon Stevens. In a testament to his wide-reaching influence, Celine Dion and Hugh Jackman are also set to participate via satellite feed.
