Jets will play Broncos in London in Week 6
Aaron Glenn will lead the Jets across the pond to face the Broncos in London in Week 6.
The game will be played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Oct 12 at 9:30 a.m. Eastern and be televised on the NFL Network. This is a Jets home game.
It’s the second straight year and third time in five seasons that the Jets will play at Tottenham in North London. They lost to the Vikings last year, 23-17, in what became Robert Saleh’s last game as the Jets coach. He was fired two days later. In 2021, the Jets fell to Atlanta in Tottenham.
The Jets and Broncos have become familiar opponents. This will be their sixth consecutive season that they’ve played each other and eighth meeting in nine years. The Jets have won two of the last three games.
This will be Darren Mougey's first time on the other side of this matchup. He was in the Broncos front office for all those games, but now he’s the Jets’ general manager.
The Jets released veteran punter Thomas Morstead and signed undrafted rookie free agent punter Kai Kroeger from South Carolina.
Morstead spent two seasons with the Jets. He averaged 48.2 yards per punt in 34 games and had 55 land inside the 20. It was Morstead’s second stint with the Jets. The former long-time Saint played seven games for the Jets in 2021.
“Just wanted to say thank you to all the fans, all the coaches that I worked with over the past few years, the teammates,” Morstead said in a video on his Instagram account. "It’s been awesome. Had a great experience. Disappointed to be moving on and disappointed how it went down, but it’s just the way it goes in this business. I really appreciate everybody that’s been a part of the journey.”
Kroeger played five seasons for South Carolina and averaged 44.6 yards per punt. He had 68 punts of at least 50 yards and 100 punts that landed inside the 20. Kroeger also completed 7 of 10 passes in college for 205 yards and three touchdowns.
He joins Austin McNamara, who went to Texas Tech, as the punters on the Jets' roster. McNamara spent time with the Bengals last year but was waived in August. He has never attempted a punt in an NFL game.
