Roofe has since joined the Championship side as John Eustace’s first signing, putting pen to paper on a deal until the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
The striker, who has earned five international caps with Jamaica, last featured in English football for rivals Leeds United back in 2019.
Tavernier, 33, spent four seasons with Roofe at Ibrox, winning the Scottish Premier League title under Steven Gerrard in 2020-21.
