There a number of names who have been touted as potential replacements for Eustace at the Lancashire outfit.
Paul Merson has recently suggested that other linked with the role, such as Gary O’Neil or Richie Wellens, would be more suitable appointments for Blackburn than Gerrard.
Myers has appeared to indicate that such an appointment of the ex-England international to the Championship play-off hopefuls will indeed not be happening.

This next few months are going to be crucial for Blackburn Rovers, who currently sit fifth in the Championship table.
That of course means the Ewood Park outfit have a chance to win promotion back to the Premier League via the play-offs.
Given half of their squad have loans or contracts expiring at the end of this season, it may be vital they take advantage of the foundations they have laid while they are still there.
In order to do that, Blackburn are going to have to bring in a manager who is capable of getting the absolute most out of their squad.
Gerrard has seemingly not always done that in his managerial career to date, seemingly struggling to fully inspire in some of his previous roles.
As a result there may be other potential candidates who are better suited for the job in hand at Ewood Park.
