Nana Tornado Recounts Father's Attempt to 'Cast Out' Feminism and Homosexuality

Ghanaian socialite Emil Wood, widely recognized as Nana Tornado, has publicly shared a personal account of his father's attempt to 'deliver' him from perceived femininity and homosexuality. Nana Tornado recounted that his father enlisted the help of church members to conduct a prayer session aimed at exorcising these presumed spirits. This revelation was made during a discussion on the Bants, Rants & Confessions podcast.

According to Nana Tornado, the prayer session extended beyond thirty minutes. However, his primary concern at the time was not the intended deliverance but rather his hunger. He stated, "They prayed for about thirty minutes, but I was really hungry and wanted them to leave. So, I pretended to fall, as if the prayers had worked." He further detailed his father's reaction to his feigned collapse, noting that his father was overjoyed and exclaimed that the prayers had been successful.

"When I fell, my dad was overjoyed and shouted, ‘It is gone!’ However, he didn’t realise that things had only worsened," Tornado humorously stated. He also voiced his criticism of the common belief that men exhibiting feminine characteristics are possessed or influenced by malevolent spirits. He emphasized, "Many people believe that if they see you like that, you’re being haunted by spirits. What they fail to realise is that everyone is born different."

Nana Tornado further elaborated on the societal tendency to hastily judge individuals based on preconceived notions instead of acknowledging that people express themselves diversely. He highlighted the importance of understanding and acceptance over stereotypical assumptions.
