Givova Scafati Basket (Serie A) agreed terms with 32-year old Argentinian-Italian ex-international center Matias Bortolin (208cm-100kg-1993, agency: Interperformances) for the upcoming 2025-26 season. He has played for the last two years at Del.Fes Avellino in the Serie A2. In 34 games, he had 10.6ppg, 8.0rpg, 2.6apg, and 1.3bpg last season.
He was also a member of the Argentinian international program for some years. Bortolin played for the Argentinian Senior National Team between 2013 and 2016 and previously for the Under 17 National Team back in 2010.
He also represented Argentina at the Panamerican Games in Toronto (Canada) ten years ago. During this event he scored an average of 1.8 ppg and had rpg.
Bortolin is a very experienced player. He has played in Argentina (Atenas, Obras, Argentino, Regatas, and San Martin), Austria (Arkadia Lions), Serbia, and Italy (RO Virtus, Rimini Crabs, Mestre, and Chiusi).
In 2024, Bortolin won the Italian Serie B Nazionale Group A championship title. He was also voted Eurobasket.com All-Italian Serie B Nazionale Center of the Year in the same year.
