William “Eddie” Bingham, a cherished resident of Mooresville, N.C., passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the age of 74, at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center. Born on July 14, 1951, in Davidson County, N.C., Eddie was the son of the late William and Edna Barnes Bingham. He was a devout member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Advance, N.C., where he found spiritual solace and community.

Eddie was known for his vibrant passions, particularly his unwavering dedication as an avid fan of the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Braves, and Carolina Tar Heels. Beyond his love for sports, his greatest joy came from spending quality time with his beloved family and cheering on his grandchildren as they participated in their various sports. He was universally described as a wonderful, kind, caring, and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

Mr. Bingham was preceded in death by his parents, his son Billy Ray Crabb, and his brother Danny Bingham. He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Ruby Doby Bingham. His legacy continues through his children, Patricia Byrd and her husband Tommy, and Michael Bingham and his wife Danielle. He is also survived by his sister, Cheryl Lomax, and her husband Jay. Eddie’s memory will be cherished by his grandchildren: Brittany Risner and her husband Chris, Bradley Byrd and his wife Colleen, Tyler Crabb and his wife Chloe, Ian Bingham, Ally Bingham, and Emma Bingham. He was a proud great-grandfather to Dom Fooce, Braxton Risner, Elliott Risner, Amarah Risner, and Daniel Byrd. Additionally, he is survived by his niece Debra Lomax, and his nephews Chris Bingham and Brian Bingham.

The family invites friends to join them for a visitation on Monday, July 21, from 12 to 1 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church, located at 1084 Rainbow Road, Advance, NC 27006. Pastor Wayne Swisher will officiate the service, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Mooresville Christian Mission, PO Box 62, Mooresville, NC 28115.
