IndiGo's Flight to Redemption: Airline Vows Smooth Holiday After Chaos

IndiGo, recognized as the largest airline in the country, has publicly confirmed its complete preparedness to manage the increased travel demand anticipated during the forthcoming holiday season. This assertion follows a period earlier this month that was marked by significant operational challenges for the carrier. In a strategic move to stabilize its network after the recent disruptions, IndiGo has implemented a 10 percent reduction in its winter flight schedule, a measure taken in direct compliance with a mandate issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
The airline stated, "IndiGo, after having fully stabilised its operations since 09 December 2025, has been steadily adding capacity, within government guidelines. We have been consistently operating 2,100- 2,200 flights and carrying over 1 million customers every 3 days." This statement underscores the airline's effort to return to normal operations and build capacity while adhering to regulatory requirements. With weather forecasts predicting an increasingly severe winter, IndiGo has reiterated its unwavering commitment to maintaining service reliability and taking all necessary steps to minimize potential travel delays for its passengers.
However, the aftermath of the airline's recent scheduling difficulties continues to impact the flying public. Consumer Affairs Secretary Nidhi Khare confirmed on Wednesday that the ministry has officially recorded approximately 100 formal complaints from travelers. These grievances are specifically related to ticket cancellations involving IndiGo flights, highlighting ongoing concerns among customers despite the airline's claims of operational stabilization.
