Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan to Honor Rob Reiner at Oscars

Hollywood icons Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan are set to reunite for an emotional tribute to filmmaker Rob Reiner at the 98th Academy Awards. The stars famously worked with Reiner on the beloved romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally.
Reiner and his wife Michelle died on December 14 in a shocking incident that shocked the entertainment community. Their son, Nick Reiner, has been charged with two counts of murder and is scheduled to appear in court again on April 29.
Crystal, a longtime collaborator and friend, will speak about Reiner during the Oscars’ In Memoriam segment. Ryan is expected to join him on stage as colleagues reflect on the director’s lasting legacy in film.
Friends and collaborators including Billy Crystal, Larry David, Martin Short, and Albert Brooks described Reiner as a master storyteller whose work shaped multiple genres. The group praised his remarkable range across comedy, drama, mockumentary, and documentary filmmaking.
The tribute will take place during the 98th Academy Awards ceremony at the Dolby Theatre. The event will be hosted by Conan O’Brien and broadcast live on ABC.
Legendary singer Barbra Streisand is also reportedly in talks to perform during the In Memoriam segment. The moment is expected to be one of the most poignant highlights of the night as Hollywood remembers influential figures lost in the past year.
