After the accident, the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) increased patrols along the Nyeri–Nyahururu road and other highways.

NTSA boss Nashon Kondiwa said the crash was very sad and confirmed that a team has been sent to investigate.

Early reports suggest speeding, reckless driving, and a possibly faulty lorry caused the crash, andIf this is true, it means the accident could have been prevented, making the loss even more painful.

The NTSA is committed to conducting a swift and thorough investigation to ascertain the exact cause, including evaluating the condition of the vehicles involved and the conduct of the drivers.
