Hell's Bells! 'Hazbin Hotel' Season 2 Trailer Drops, Bringing Back a Fan-Favorite Character from the Dead!

Prime Video has unveiled the official trailer for Hazbin Hotel Season 2, providing fans with the most comprehensive look yet at the highly anticipated return of Charlie Morningstar and the residents of the infamous redemption hotel. The new season is set to deepen the narrative following the explosive Season 1 finale, delving further into the complex fallout between Heaven and Hell, while introducing new adversaries, expanding the roles of established characters, forging uneasy alliances, and promising a continuation of the series' signature musical elements.
A significant highlight from the trailer is the unexpected appearances of Adam (voiced by Alex Brightman), the angelic antagonist who seemingly met his demise in the Season 1 finale. Despite series creator Vivienne Medrano's (VivziePop) consistent assertion that Adam is deceased, the trailer shows Adam interacting with Lute (Jessica Vosk). In one pivotal moment, Adam dryly remarks, “I never liked that kid,” referencing his son, Abel (Patrick Stump), who is seen panicking as the new leader of Heaven’s army. This line hints at a more intricate and potentially strained family dynamic within Heaven than previously known. Lute's portrayal further complicates her grief, as she is depicted wearing Adam’s halo as a bracelet and wielding his guitar-axe, a choice that both honors his memory and suggests her struggle to live up to his legacy. Later, Adam stands beside Lute, seemingly guiding or haunting her as she prepares for battle, adding another layer to her evolving role in the series.
Given the narrative context and creator statements, Adam’s appearances are likely visions or hallucinations stemming from Lute’s mourning and her internal conflict to uphold his legacy. Nevertheless, his spectral presence is profoundly significant, keeping his character relevant, adding considerable emotional depth to Lute’s arc, and sparking new questions among viewers.
Season 2 picks up with Charlie’s unprecedented victory against Heaven’s forces, which has led to a boom in new residents at the rebuilt and improved hotel. However, Charlie soon discovers that many of these new arrivals are seeking power rather than redemption. As animosity against Heaven intensifies, sinners begin to realize their potential to fight back. This volatile environment sets the stage for the infamous overlord trio, The Vees—comprising Vox (Christian Borle), Velvette (Lilli Cooper), and Valentino (Joel Perez)—who were first introduced in Season 1. Led by Vox, The Vees scheme to destabilize and ultimately topple Heaven itself, aiming to ascend to the top of the infernal hierarchy. Meanwhile, Charlie must navigate the increasingly cutthroat politics of Hell while striving to balance her dream of redemption with the need to protect the Hotel’s fragile public image.
On the celestial front, Heaven is grappling with its own internal crisis. Sir Pentious’s (Alex Brightman) shocking redemption has sent angels into disarray, forcing them to confront their historical role in past atrocities and the growing instability within their dominion. With Hell in turmoil and Heaven in a state of uncertainty, Season 2 is poised to elevate the stakes for all characters caught in the monumental conflict.
The trailer also teases the first new song of the season, “Hazbin Guarantee (Trust Us),” which is now available for streaming across digital platforms. The full Hazbin Hotel: Season Two (Original Soundtrack) is available for pre-order from Atlantic Records, with options including five vinyl variants, CD, and cassette releases. The soundtrack features performances from the show’s talented ensemble cast, including Erika Henningsen, Stephanie Beatriz, Keith David, Kimiko Glenn, Blake Roman, Amir Talai, Alex Brightman, Christian Borle, Jeremy Jordan, Jessica Vosk, Joel Perez, Lilli Cooper, Krystina Alabado, Patrick Stump, Darren Criss, Shoba Narayan, Patina Miller, Liz Callaway, Leslie Rose Kritzer, James Monroe Iglehart, Andrew Durand, Kevin Del Aguila, Daphne Rubin-Vega, and Alex Newell.
Hazbin Hotel was created by Vivienne Medrano (VivziePop), based on her hit 2019 YouTube pilot which has garnered over 117 million views and a global fan base. Medrano directs all episodes and serves as executive producer alongside Dana Tafoya-Cameron and Brett Coker. The series is produced by Oscar- and Emmy-winning A24 and FOX Entertainment Studios’ Emmy-winning Bento Box Entertainment. Season 2 of Hazbin Hotel premieres on October 29 on Prime Video with two episodes, followed by two new episodes weekly through November 19.
