Grades for each Big East Basketball player taken in 2025 NBA Draft

Published 10 hours ago2 minute read

Last year, Big East Basketball produced the most NBA Draft picks with eight, including several from the National Champion UConn Huskies. Even though UConn took a small step back, the conference still managed to send some players to the pro ranks in this year’s draft.

Here’s a look at all of the players from the Big East selected in the NBA Draft, including a grade of the pick.

When Sorber was healthy, the Hoyas were a quality defensive unit, and he showed he can score inside as well. OKC doesn’t have many roster issues, but they could use some more scoring from the inside and allow Chet Holmgren to play the 4-spot more often.

Considering that Charlotte had taken Kon Knueppel early at No. 4, taking someone who plays the same position later in the first round in interesting. But McNeeley is someone who can be a tough role player and find a way to crack the rotation at some point.

After trading Mark Williams to Phoenix, Charlotte had a major need at center. And who better at this point in the draft than a 4-time Big East Defensive POY star in Kalkbrenner? If he can hang athletically, this is a big pickup for the franchise.

Jones was one of the top pure scorers in all of CBB and will be joining a backcourt set to be without star guard Tyrese Haliburton for next year after suffering an Achilles injury. Indiana already has great depth, but Jones has a shot to carve his own role.

The 6’7 wing is a good defensive piece for the Hornets, who lack players in that department. For a franchise that’s had a revolving door of players via traders, there’s a chance Peavy could luck out with a role in the future.
