GoldStars Coach Frimpong Manso Rallies Nation for Crucial JS Kabylie Showdown!

Ghanaian champions Bibiani GoldStars are gearing up for a crucial encounter in the CAF Champions League, as they prepare to host Algerian side JS Kabylie in the first leg of their preliminary round clash this Saturday.
Head coach Frimpong Manso has issued a fervent appeal to Ghanaian football fans, urging them to fill the Accra Sports Stadium and provide unwavering support for his team. Acknowledging that Accra is not their usual home ground, Manso believes a strong turnout from the local populace will be instrumental in securing a vital first-leg advantage. He drew parallels with the support shown for the Black Stars against Mali, expressing confidence that Ghanaians would extend the same backing to GoldStars, which he feels would significantly contribute to their victory.
The decision to play the home leg at the Accra Sports Stadium stems from the fact that GoldStars' traditional venue, Dun’s Park in Bibiani, does not meet the stringent stadium requirements set by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for continental matches. Consequently, the Gye Nyame lads have relocated their training preparations to Accra, allowing the team to acclimatize to the playing conditions ahead of the Saturday fixture.
Coach Manso underscored the significant role of home advantage in African inter-club competitions, noting its impact on team performance. While GoldStars are accustomed to playing at Dun’s Park week in, week out, he recognizes the need to adapt to the Accra Sports Stadium. He highlighted that the team would have at least two training sessions on the pitch before the game, which he believes will provide them with a crucial boost and confidence for the match. The first leg will be followed by the reverse fixture in Algeria a week later, with the aggregate winner advancing to the second preliminary round of the competition.
