Global Anthem Alert: Van Halen's 'Jump' Remix Ignites FIFA World Cup!

As the FIFA World Cup 2026 draws near, an all-star lineup has come together to give Van Halen’s 1984 classic “Jump” a fresh, contemporary spin.
The updated version features J Balvin and Amber Mark on vocals, Travis Barker of Blink-182 on drums, and guitar legend Steve Vai contributing his signature riffs.
This collaboration forms a central part of Coca-Cola’s soccer campaign, debuting with “Bubbling Up,” the first of three new films designed to celebrate the global tournament.
Steve Vai’s involvement is particularly noteworthy, linking the reinterpretation to Van Halen’s legacy.
Vai previously worked with David Lee Roth, Van Halen’s original singer, during Roth’s solo career following the band’s 1984 album, which included the original “Jump.”
The Legacy of “Jump”
“Jump” remains Van Halen’s most iconic and successful single. The track marked a turning point for the band, embracing the synthesizer—a departure from their traditional hard rock and blues style—which initially surprised longtime fans. Despite being released over four decades ago, the song retains its energetic appeal and timeless vibe.
It is Van Halen’s only No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, where it held the top spot for five weeks, and also reached No. 7 in the United Kingdom, one of just two top-10 appearances for the band there.
Coca-Cola’s Global World Cup Campaign
The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be the largest in history, expanding to 48 teams across three host countries—Canada, Mexico, and the United States—from June 11 to July 19.
Arnab Roy, President of Coca-Cola Global Category, emphasized the campaign’s goal: “Football is more than a game; it’s a shared passion with a tapestry of emotions that unites billions.”
Coca-Cola’s strategy focuses on delivering innovative experiences and engaging content to enhance fan participation, whether in digital spaces, local bars, or at-home watch parties.
The launch of the “Bubbling Up” clip marks the start of this initiative, aiming to connect fans worldwide to the excitement and emotional intensity of the tournament.
