Giants' Abdul Carter signs rookie contract worth around $45 million - Newsday
Abdul Carter, the No. 3 overall pick in the draft, signed his rookie contract with the Giants on Thursday.
His deal is for four years and worth roughly $45.2 million. It includes a $29.5 million signing bonus and a fifth-year team option. Carter’s contract is fully guaranteed.
An All-American at defensive end for Penn State as a junior, Carter finished last season with 68 tackles, 24 for loss and 12 sacks. He was voted Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year last season.
Carter headlined the Giants’ seven-player draft class. He’s the fourth Giants draft pick to sign his rookie deal. Carter joined offensive lineman Marcus Mbow, a fifth-round pick, tight end Thomas Fidone II and cornerback Korie Black – both of whom were taken in the seventh round.
