The move aims to enhance support for farmers, agribusinesses, and value-chain development, aligning with ADB’s founding mandate.

Forson disclosed the strategy during the inauguration of ADB’s new nine-member board, chaired by Kenneth Kwamina Thompson (ex-CEO of Dalex Finance).

He emphasized agriculture as critical to national development, tasking the board to prioritize sector financing.

The recapitalization forms part of broader structural reforms led by the Finance Ministry to drive agro-industrialization and reduce import dependency.

The reconstituted board including MD Edward Ato Sarpong will steer operational efficiency and refocus on food security and rural growth.
