Ghana's DStv Pricing Fury: Sam George's Role Under Fire

Ghana’s Communications Minister, Samuel Nartey George, has come under intense scrutiny and faced widespread criticism from various stakeholders regarding his handling of the ongoing DStv subscription charges controversy. Accusations of inconsistency, egoism, and mismanagement have been leveled against him by minority members of Parliament, the President of IMANI Africa, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Consumer Protection Agency.
Minority members of Parliament’s Communication and Information Committee, led by Ranking Member Matthew Nyindam, have strongly criticized Minister George for what they perceive as a shift in his stance. Nyindam argued that the minister's conduct does not reflect the accountability expected of a cabinet minister, suggesting it has eroded public trust and tarnished the image of the Ministry he serves. The minority even called for presidential intervention, asserting that if the minister wishes to retain his position, he must reconsider his approach, describing his attitude and actions as “arrogant” and
