Ghana coach Otto Addo names squad for Unity Cup in London

Accra, May 26, GNA – Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has named a 23-man squad for the upcoming Unity Cup matches in London, United Kingdom (UK).

The Black Stars will face West African rivals Nigeria at the GTech Community Stadium in West London on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

Four home-based players, namely Benjamin Asare of Hearts of Oak, Razak Simpson of Nations FC, Kamaradini Mamudu of Medeama SC, and Kwame Opoku of Asante Kotoko, have been called up by Otto Addo.

Italian-based striker Felix Afena Gyan has made a return to the team after a two-year absence, while Abdul Samed Salis makes a comeback following his recovery from injury.

Former West Ham United goalkeeper Joseph Tetteh Anang, who plays in Ireland for St Patrick’s Athletic, has also been handed his debut call-up.

Black Satellites duo Abdul Aziz Issah and Aaron Essel have also been invited to the team likewise Caleb Yirenkyi of FC Nordsjaelland and Belgium-based Mohammed Gadafi Fuseini of Union Saint-Gilloise.

The players are expected to report camping in London to begin preparations for the Unity Cup, which features Nigeria, Trinidad and Tobago, and Jamaica.

Ghana would be hoping to secure a place in the finals which is scheduled for Saturday, May 31, 2025.

Midfielders: Abdul Salis Samed, Ibrahim Sulemana, Abu Francis, Majeed Ashimeru, Abdul Aziz Issah, Lawrence Agyekum, Christopher Baah Bonsu
