Nvidia apparently plans to announce the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti and GeForce RTX 5060 on April 15, 2025. One day later, at least the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti will be launched in two variants – one with 8 GB of memory and one with 16 GB. The GeForce RTX 5060 is not due to be released until May. A more precise date is not yet known, nor are the prices of either graphics card.

The often well-informed website HKEPC from Hong Kong reports on the dates. According to this, Nvidia is lifting the embargo periods for test reports and the sales launch at the same time, at 15:00 German time on April 15. This would be a rather atypical approach: Usually, Nvidia and also AMD push a day between test reports and the sales launch.

With such a day, interested parties have enough time to think about whether they want to get hold of a graphics card at the launch. In the case of the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, it is to be hoped that availability will be better than with the previous RTX 5000 models. Otherwise, the graphics cards would be sold out before you could even finish reading a test.

According to rumors, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti and GeForce RTX 5060 both use the GB206 graphics chip. The Ti model is said to have 4608 active shader cores, while the normal RTX 5060 has 3840. Both apparently use GDDR7 memory, which transfers 448 GB/s on 128 data paths.

The GeForce RTX 5060 Ti at least is not expected to see a big leap in performance in games – according to rumors, the raw performance does not even increase by eight percent compared to the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti. This fits in with the previous picture that Nvidia is prioritizing AI capabilities such as artificial image interpolation (Multi Frame Generation, MFG).

The GeForce RTX 5060 could make a bigger leap, provided Nvidia does not limit the clock frequencies. It is said to have 25 percent more shader cores than its predecessor, the GeForce RTX 4060. The successor will also be released exclusively with 8 GB of memory.
