Githunguru MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has lately been unpredictable as regards her support for former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.

Leading up to Gachagua's impeachment and shortly after, Wamuchomba was among the Mt Kenya leaders who were vocal in defending the former deputy president.
She often featured in Gachagua's entourage and would accompany him to social functions.
Wamuchomba was regarded among the former deputy president's chief lieutenants until recently, when she seemed to have taken a back seat in Gachagua's fold.
The lawmaker was a no-show on May 15 when Gachagua led his loyalists in unveiling the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP).
She seems to be warming up to former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i.
Wamuchomba declared that she supports Matiang'i by virtue of being long-time friends right from their campus days.
The former Interior CS has declared his bid for the presidency, and has the endorsement of the Jubilee Party under former president Uhuru Kenyatta.
"I'm supporting Matiangi 100%. (0:25) Because he's my personal friend. By the way, he's not from my community, but I'm supporting him because he's my personal friend. Even when he was in Jubilee, he was my friend. When he was a cabinet minister, he was my friend. When he was at the University of Nairobi, I am an alumni of the same university. We were friends." she said.
With her declaration, Wamuchomba appears to be getting back to Uhuru's fold, years after she ditched him to join President William Ruto's fold.
