- Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has given all indications that his 2027 presidential bid is unstoppable.

Matiang'i is among political leaders seeking to unseat President William Ruto in the upcoming 2027 General Election.
On Monday, June 2, Kenyans got a glimpse of Matiang'i's preparedness after a campaign truck branded in Jubilee Party colours was spotted.
The truck, which had Matiang'i's image, was parked outside the Jubilee Party headquarters, signalling his active preparations for the 2027 presidential race.
The vehicle, adorned with Jubilee's red and white colours, bore the slogan 'Mbele Pamoja', a phrase popular with the former ruling party.
Matiang'i recently announced plans for a nationwide tour to rally support for his presidential bid, with the Jubilee Party having officially endorsed his candidature.
The latest development attracted mixed reactions from Kenyans, with Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi suggesting that Matiang'i will be a force to reckon with in 2027.
"The war for Central Kenya in 2027 will be a three horse race. President William Ruto will fight for every vote. Former President Uhuru and his Project Dr. Fred Matiang'i will be a force to reckon with. Finally, depending his strategy, Rigathi Gachagua will be a formidable force," Ahmednasir said.

Meanwhile, the infighting between former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua’s allies and retired president Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party might derail Matiang'i's bid.
Gachagua and his allies have maintained that the newly launched Democracy for Citizens Party will be the sole political vehicle in the Mt. Kenya region, rejecting any divisions through the Jubilee Party.
Embakasi North MP James Gakuya confidently declared that Mt. Kenya has already chosen Gachagua as their regional leader.
Gakuya encouraged members of the Jubilee Party to join Gachagua’s new party in preparation for the 2027 General Election.
