Gas conference to address energy poverty, boost industrial growth in Nigeria
The Energy Infrastructure, Natural Gas and Clean Energy Conference and Exhibition (EINGICE 2025), which returns to Abuja later this year, will tackle Nigeria’s energy poverty and drive industrial growth.
The event, now in its second edition, according to the organisers, would play a critical role in addressing the continent’s deepening energy challenges through a natural gas-focused approach.
At a time when African countries are grappling with the dual burden of limited energy access and rising energy poverty, players at the event are expected to offer bold ideas, concrete action, and industry-wide collaboration.
The two-day conference and exhibition will convene C-suite executives, senior government officials, policymakers, financiers, technical experts, and innovators.
The mission is to chart a path toward sustainable energy development by advancing natural gas exploration, production, transportation, and industrialisation across the continent.
This year’s edition is framed by the urgency to reposition natural gas as both a transitional and transformative fuel for Africa. Beyond addressing energy access gaps, discussions would focus on easing procurement of gas technologies, unlocking investment for LNG infrastructure, and expanding gas use as a driver of growth in refining and petrochemical industries.
Organisers said in a release that the event is designed to go beyond dialogue and push for practical steps that enhance technical capacity, attract capital, and catalyse inclusive development.
EINGICE 2025 follows the success of the inaugural edition held in 2024, which featured over 20 respected speakers and industry leaders. Among them were Mr. Gbite Falade, MD/CEO of Aradel Holdings PLC; Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC); Dr. Austin Avuru, Chairman and CEO of AA Holdings Limited and board member of NNPC Limited; Dr. Babs Omotowa, Founding President of the Nigerian University of Technology and Management and NNPC board member; Dr. David Ige, CEO of GasInvest Limited; Mr. Emeka Ene, CEO of OIDA Group and Oildata Wireline Services Limited; and Professor Mike Onyekonwu, a leading scholar in petroleum and gas engineering. Their participation helped shape an inaugural conference that was widely regarded as both visionary and grounded in practical expertise.
EINGICE 2025 is expected to draw an even larger and more diverse group of stakeholders, many of whom have already confirmed their participation as speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees. With global geopolitics, climate goals, and energy security all converging on the African gas agenda, the Abuja conference will serve as a crucial moment to rethink strategies, deepen collaboration, and ensure Africa is not left behind in the global energy transition.
