Future of Opulence: Rolls-Royce Spectre II Redefines Electric Luxury Drives
The 2027 Rolls-Royce Spectre II arrives with significant enhancements, offering more power, increased range, and expanded customization options for the brand's pioneering electric vehicle. This midcycle update refines its luxurious appeal with advanced battery technology and bespoke aesthetic choices.
The 2027 Rolls-Royce Spectre II marks a significant midcycle evolution for the brand's first-ever electric-powered vehicle, offering substantial upgrades in power, range, and customization options. Rather than a bold announcement, the introduction of the Spectre II is presented with characteristic Rolls-Royce understatement, hinting at its refined enhancements.
Building upon the foundation of the original Spectre, launched in 2022, the Spectre II utilizes Rolls-Royce’s highly flexible Architecture of Luxury aluminum spaceframe technology. Its core features include a 112.4-kWh (net) battery pack, ingeniously integrated under the floor, which significantly boosts torsional rigidity by 30 percent compared to the Ghost sedan. This robust platform, sharing suspension elements with the Ghost, leverages a 400-volt electrical architecture to power two BMW-designed externally excited synchronous electric motors—one at the front axle and one at the rear.
Visually, the Spectre II retains its distinctive, swooping coupe bodywork, masterfully designed under the direction of Anders Warming. It features the widest execution of the iconic Rolls-Royce Pantheon grille in history, crowned by a petite Spirit of Ecstasy figurine. This emblem, meticulously refined over 830 hours of design modeling and wind-tunnel testing, contributes to the Spectre's claimed drag coefficient of 0.25, making it the most aerodynamic Rolls-Royce ever. The grand 59-inch, powered rear-hinged coach doors open to reveal an interior that embodies Rolls-Royce luxury, with sumptuously trimmed seats, exquisite decorative elements, and elegant chrome accents.
The Spectre II introduces a blend of practical and emotional enhancements. Practical improvements include revised battery cell technology, extending the EPA range to a useful 308 to 324 miles, alongside a 14 percent reduction in charge time. Furthermore, the motors have been recalibrated to unlock more power and torque. The standard Spectre II now delivers a total system output of 593 hp, while the sportier Spectre II Black Badge boasts an impressive 671 hp. Peak torque for both models ranges from 749 to 811 lb-ft, with the front motor capable of 255 hp and 269 lb-ft, and the rear motor providing 483 hp and 479 lb-ft.
Emotionally, the Spectre II offers unprecedented personalization. A standout feature is the optional Gradient Two-Tone Paint, a complex finish that transitions the car's color from front to rear. Available in four distinct colorways, this intricate process requires four days to complete. The Spectre II Black Badge also introduces the Iced Black exterior trim package, which applies a sophisticated soft-sheen satin black finish to most exterior shiny elements. This Iced Black treatment extends to the new forged multi-spoke 23-inch wheel developed specifically for the Black Badge. The standard Spectre II also receives a new forged 23-inch wheel, featuring glittering, sharp-edged facets that demand six hours of meticulous hand-finishing.
