Free Firewood to Prepare for Cold Temps
College Station, Tx (FOX 44) – The student lead Bonfire Organization is continuing preparations for their annual tradition of the Bonfire. According to the Bonfire website, the tradition began in 1907 as a way to celebrate an Aggie win over Tulane.
The date of the bonfire is set to happen on January 25 and wood preparations are continuous. On the organization’s Facebook page, they are offering free firewood to help the community stay warm during the upcoming cold temps.
The event will be from Friday January 17, through Sunday January 19, from 8am to 6:30pm.
Not all the wood will be split or seasoned so the Bonfire Organization is urging those who are in a position to split wood to take the unsplit wood so as to leave split would for those who can’t.
Directions to the loading site can be found on the Bonfire Organization’s website here.
