Jase Richardson just began his professional career on Wednesday night but another former Michigan State star is continuing his with a new team overseas.

On Saturday, Tyson Walker signed a professional basketball deal with Melbourne United of the NBL.

Walker went undrafted in 2024 and spent some time in the G-League with the Dallas Mavericks' affiliate, the Texas Legends. He appeared in 10 games with the Legends and averaged 14.8 points and 5.4 assists per game but he shot under 40 percent from the floor and 35 percent from deep. While he is headed to Australia, he showed some promise in the G-League.

The former Michigan State star is just the latest Spartan to sign a contract overseas and a couple of others are currently starring there. Aaron Henry was a star in Japan this past season and Travis Trice was the MVP in Puerto Rico last year. Cassius Winston, too, is making waves overseas and just signed a new deal himself.

Obviously the ultimate goal for Walker was to make it to the NBA and that dream isn't dead, but he has a lot of work to do for that to come to fruition. The only thing truly holding him back is his size.

Michigan State fans will always remember Walker as one of the most clutch players in Spartan history and the go-to offensive threat for back-to-back teams. He was a fan favorite from the moment he stepped foot on campus and he'll always have a special place in Michigan State fans' hearts.

Now Australia gets to see how special of a player he is.
