Derrick Alston Jr.

Defending champion Virtus Segafredo Bologna (Serie A) strengthened their roster with addition of 27-year old American 206cm small forward Derrick Alston Jr. (college: Boise State) for season 2025-26. Alston played most recently at BAXI Manresa in Spanish Liga Endesa. In 34 games he was league's fourth best scorer with impressive 16.9ppg and had 4.2rpg and 1.8apg last season. He helped them to make it to the Spanish Catalonian League final. Alston also played 12 games in Basketball Champions League where he recorded very remarkable stats: 17.8ppg, 3.8rpg and 2.4apg. Good season as he was voted League Player of the Week and selected to Eurobasket.com Basketball Champions League Second Team.
The previous (2023-24) season he played at Seawolves in German BBL. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 32 German BBL games he was league's second best scorer with high stats: 18.6ppg and averaged 3.7rpg, 2.5apg and 1.1spg in that year. A very spectacular season in his career as he was voted to Eurobasket.com German Bundesliga All-Imports Team. He also played 7 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he got high stats: 16.6ppg, 2.4rpg, 3.4apg and 1.4spg in that year.
Alston has played also professionally in USA, NBA G League (SLC Stars) and NBA Summer League (Dallas Mavericks).
Among many awards he was selected Eurobasket.com All-German Bundesliga Forward of the Year in 2023.
He graduated from Boise State in 2021 and it will be his fifth season in pro basketball.
