First Look: Zendaya & Robert Pattinson Get Wild and Lose Their Minds in A24's Explosive New Dark Comedy Trailer

Zendaya and Robert Pattinson star in A24’s dark comedy “The Drama,” exploring pre-marital chaos, with two more collaborations slated for 2026, including “The Odyssey” and “Dune: Part Three.”
Zendaya and Robert Pattinson lead Kristoffer Borgli’s latest A24 feature, “The Drama,” portraying an unraveling engaged couple, Emma (Zendaya) and Charlie (Pattinson). The film delves into the painfully awkward and almost cringeworthy dynamic leading up to their wedding day, as an unexpected crisis threatens to upend their plans. The first trailer teases this tension, opening in a photography studio where the couple struggles to smile naturally, offering glimpses of their wedding plans spiraling into anxiety and chaos. Borgli, known for his previous English-language film “Dream Scenario,” explores psychological drama with echoes of his earlier works like 2022's Norwegian satire “Sick of Myself” and debut “Dreb.”
Scheduled for release by A24 in theaters on April 3, 2026, “The Drama” also features Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, and Hailey Gates. The film blends Romance, Drama, and Comedy, highlighting the precarious balance between love and chaos in pre-wedding life.
“The Drama” is the first of three 2026 collaborations between Zendaya and Pattinson. Their second joint project will be Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” an adaptation of Homer’s Greek epic, set for release on July 17, 2026. Zendaya stars as the goddess Athena, while Pattinson portrays Antinous, an Ithacan suitor competing for Penelope’s hand.
Later in the year, the duo reunites for “Dune: Part Three,” Denis Villeneuve’s final installment of the acclaimed trilogy, set to release on December 18, 2026. Zendaya reprises her role as Chani, while Pattinson is rumored to play Scytale, an antagonist from Frank Herbert’s “Dune: Messiah,” the story that inspires the film.
Both actors have also maintained busy schedules with other major projects. Pattinson recently starred alongside Jennifer Lawrence in Lynne Ramsay’s “Die My Love,” while Zendaya appeared in Luca Guadagnino’s “Challengers” with Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor. She will also return for Season 3 of HBO’s “Euphoria,” reprising her Emmy-winning role as Rue, and will appear in Disney and Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” on July 31, 2026.
