First Look: Zendaya & Robert Pattinson Get Wild and Lose Their Minds in A24's Explosive New Dark Comedy Trailer

Zendaya and Robert Pattinson are set to star as an unraveling engaged couple in Kristoffer Borgli’s new A24 feature, “The Drama.” The film, which sees the two actors as Emma (Zendaya) and Charlie (Pattinson), explores the painfully awkward and almost cringeworthy dynamic leading up to their wedding day, where an unexpected crisis threatens to upend their plans. The first trailer for “The Drama” teases this pre-marital tension, opening in a photography studio where the couple struggles to smile naturally, leading to glimpses of their wedding plans dissolving into anxiety and chaos. This psychological drama marks Borgli’s fourth feature and his second English-language film, following the Nicolas Cage-starring “Dream Scenario” (2023), and echoing themes from his earlier works like 2022's Norwegian film “Sick of Myself” and his debut satire “Dreb.”

Scheduled for release by A24 in theaters on April 3, 2026, “The Drama” boasts a star-studded cast including Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, and Hailey Gates, in addition to its two leads. Genres associated with the film include Romance, Drama, and Comedy.

Notably, “The Drama” is just the first of three films that Zendaya and Pattinson are slated to share the screen in during 2026. Their second collaboration will be in Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” an adaptation of Homer's Greek epic, which Universal Pictures will release on July 17, 2026. In “The Odyssey,” Zendaya is cast as the Greek goddess Athena, while Pattinson will portray Antinous, an Ithacan suitor vying for Penelope's hand.

Later that year, the acclaimed duo will reunite for “Dune: Part Three,” the third and final installment in Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune” trilogy. Warner Bros. is set to release this film on December 18, 2026. Zendaya will reprise her role as the heroine Chani, and Pattinson will make his franchise debut. Although his character is yet to be officially confirmed, rumors suggest he will play Scytale, an antagonist from Frank Herbert’s “Dune: Messiah,” which serves as the primary source material for the film.

Both actors have also been busy with other significant projects. Robert Pattinson recently starred alongside Jennifer Lawrence in Lynne Ramsay’s “Die My Love.” Zendaya’s latest film was Luca Guadagnino’s “Challengers,” where she appeared with Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor. She is also expected to return to the small screen for Season 3 of HBO’s “Euphoria,” reprising her two-time Emmy-winning role of Rue, and will swing back to theaters in Disney and Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” on July 31.
