Fire erupts in double-decker e-bus near CST, Mumbai; probe underway | Mumbai News - Times of India
MUMBAI: A BEST double decker caught fire in Fort area this morning. Nobody was injured. An official said that the double-decker electric bus suddenly ignited on Tuesday morning near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in south Mumbai, interrupting the typical rush hour travel.
Probe in on to ascertain the cause.Switch Mobility which operates the bus did not provide any statement, mentioning that BEST will issue media statement on the fire.
The e AC double decker was ferrying commuters to Backbay depot. As the vehicle approached the Siddharth College signal, flames were noticed near the high-voltage battery compartment located adjacent to the front left tyre. The bus conductor promptly alerted the fire brigade and local police.
