A late-night two-car head-on collision claimed the life of a 40-year-old woman Tuesday in Bethpage.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash, who was critically injured, was charged with drunken driving, police said.

Nassau police said the crash occurred on Seamans Neck Road just before midnight. The identity of the victim has not been released.

The victim was driving a 2008 Honda Accord northbound on Seamans Neck when her car was struck head-on by a 2013 Honda Pilot driven southbound by Joseph Curto, 54, of Seaford, police said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene; Curto was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, police said.

Following an initial investigation at the crash scene, police said Curto was charged with driving while intoxicated.

He faces arraignment when medically practicable, police said.
