Fire at Sabarmati bullet train station doused, no casualty reported

Ahmedabad: A fire broke out at the under-construction Sabarmati bullet train station early on Saturday. The incident, which occurred around 6.30am, required 14 firefighting vehicles over three hours to extinguish the blaze. No casualties were reported.
The fire appears to have originated in wood used during welding work, according to local workers. Senior officials associated with the project arrived on the scene shortly after the fire was reported.

The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) released a statement confirming the fire at the roof shuttering of one section of the Sabarmati bullet train station construction site. They stated, "No injuries or casualties were reported. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but prima facie, it appears that welding sparks from temporary shuttering work may have triggered it. Fire brigades have actively doused the flames, and the situation is under control."
Ahmedabad fire brigade divisional fire officer, Swastik Jadeja, confirmed the time of the call. The vehicles from Sabarmati and Chandkheda fire stations reached the site first, followed by units from Shahpur, Navrangpura, Maninagar and Jamalpur. Firefighters encountered a situation where the wooden supports for the roof construction had caught fire. A senior fire officer said that the open area and the presence of wood, combined with windy morning conditions, contributed to the fire's rapid spread.
The station is currently under construction between the Sabarmati broad gauge station towards Ramnagar and the broad gauge station towards Ranip.
