Gr4vy Partnership Adds M-Pesa and Airtel Money to Global Payment Options
Gr4vy has partnered with Unlimit to significantly expand the local payment methods available to its enterprise merchants globally. This collaboration, announced on October 8, 2026, aims to simplify international expansion by offering access to a vast network of regional payment options across Latin America, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Europe, circumventing the need for complex, market-specific integrations.Businesses selling across African markets can face a familiar problem: customers may prefer paying through mobile money, while international merchants often rely on payment systems built around cards.
A new partnership between US-based payment platform Gr4vy and financial infrastructure company Unlimit aims to make those local options easier for businesses to offer.
Announced on October 8, the deal gives Gr4vy’s enterprise customers access to Unlimit’s payment network through their existing integration.
Why mobile money matters
The partnership includes M-Pesa and Airtel Money among the payment methods available for African markets. These services are especially relevant in parts of East Africa, where customers use mobile money to make payments and transfer funds without relying solely on conventional bank cards.
For merchants entering new markets, supporting familiar payment methods can make it easier for customers to complete purchases. Businesses otherwise may need to arrange separate technical integrations for different payment providers, adding time and complexity to expansion.
Gr4vy’s platform is designed to bring multiple payment providers and methods together through one integration. The Unlimit deal extends the options its merchants can access without requiring them to rebuild their existing payment setup.
What the deal does and doesn't promise
The companies have announced access to a wider range of payment methods, but have not disclosed transaction targets or named new merchants that will use the African options as a result of the deal.
The partnership also does not mean every African country or merchant will automatically have access to every listed service. Availability depends on the markets and payment capabilities supported by the providers.
Unlimit has previously expanded its mobile-money offering in Tanzania to include M-Pesa, Mixx by Yas and Airtel Money, illustrating its existing work with regional payment systems.
For African businesses seeking international customers, the practical value will depend on which payment methods they can activate and how well the arrangement works in their target markets. The announcement offers another route to local payment options; its commercial impact will become clearer as merchants begin using them.
